About Us
The Space is Brighton’s unique arts and media event, which brings together the creative community with high calibre guests.
Each monthly event, which features two interviews and audience Q&As, is held in an intimate and informal environment in Brighton.
The events are alternately presented by Chair of Creative Brighton Lisa Holloway and media consultant Briggy Smale.
The Space has featured four Oscar nominees, five BAFTA nominees, three Grammy winners, a CBE, a Booker Prize nominee and the Children’s Laureate.
The events have also welcomed figures from key arts and media institutions, including the Tate Modern, BBC Radio 4, British Board of Film Classification, Glastonbury Festival, Arts Council, MTV and the Radio Academy. Guest highlights have included James Bond films composer David Arnold, acclaimed journalist Miranda Sawyer, QI and Blackadder producer John Lloyd, Stanley Kubrick’s Executive Producer Jan Harlan, legendary designer Peter Saville and veteran comedy writer Barry Cryer.
