Everett True - controversial music journalist and author

The iconic Everett True kept the audience laughing with his measured name dropping wit, while telling self-confessed "cynical and arrogant" tales about Courtney Love and her flirting. He was certainly insightful, and gave us a wealth of views and anecdotes of a controversial music critic and writer. True said that he doesn't think of himself as a journalist, and some may say that he's not, as his unique style isn't to everyone's tastes, but whether being read or heard, True is real value for money.

Everett True is a legendary and controversial music journalist. In the 1980s, True worked at the NME and Melody Maker. While covering grunge music, he befriended Kurt Cobain, introduced the Nirvana star to Courtney Love, and wheeled Cobain on stage at the Reading Festival. True currently edits the music magazine Plan B and his music biographies include the acclaimed new book Nirvana - The True Story.
